Head Coach and School Sport Coaches

Redeemer is a co-educational Christian school owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District. The College is situated in Rochedale on Brisbane's south side, about 20km from the CBD, about 55km from the Gold Coast, and is easily accessible by the Pacific Highway and the Gateway Motorway.

Redeemer Lutheran College is actively seeking to recruit the following sport coaching positions for 2025

Head Coaches:

• AFL, Basketball, Indoor Cricket, Netball, Soccer and Volleyball
• Provide coaching leadership and planning for all teams in the respective sport
• Attend all training sessions and games including Saturday mornings
• Roles are for between 10-15 hours per week subject to level of competitions

Junior School Team Coaches:

• Term 1 = AFL, Netball
• Term 2 = Indoor Cricket, Touch Football
• Roles are 4-6 hours per week including Wednesday afternoon (training) and Saturday mornings (games)

Senior School Team Coaches:

• Term 1 = AFL, Basketball and Volleyball
• Term 2 = Indoor Cricket, Netball, Soccer, Touch Football
• Roles are for 4-6 hours per week including Monday – Thursday morning and/or afternoons (training) and Saturday mornings (games)

Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Preparing and implementing suitable training sessions for primary and/or secondary sport teams
• Coach the fundamental skills of the respective sports, and also coach the rules of the game in conjunction with a strong emphasis on teamwork and good sportsmanship.
• Maximize the effectiveness of and student engagement during training sessions
• Ensure the safe and appropriate use of Redeemer sporting equipment and facilities at all times
• Coach on game day with an emphasis on student development and executing team processes, and not solely on game outcomes.

The successful applicant will ideally have the following skills and qualities:

• Knowledge and experience in coaching primary / secondary school students
• Coaching accreditation in respective sport or willingness to work towards within 6 months of appointment
• Have student safety at the forefront of everything during all training sessions and games
• Display discretion, confidentiality, honesty and integrity in their relationships with all students, fellow coaches, umpires / referee’s and college staff
• Proactively communicate with individual students, coaches and staff as necessary and always present the College in the best possible light
• Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
• Maintain a high level of personal and professional presentation at all times
• Be positive in support of the college's traditions and Christian ethos.
