Laboratory Assistant | Permanent Part-Time Term Time Position

About the role

The Laboratory Assistant position being offered is a permanent part-time term time (40 weeks per year) position commencing 17 January 2025. The successful candidate will be working 22.80 hours per week, days and hours to be worked to be negotiated with successful candidate. The Laboratory Assistant will work collaboratively with the Laboratory Technician, the Head of Science and all Science teachers.

This position includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Organization of the Science Laboratories.
  • Preparation and execution of experiments.
  • Administration of safety requirements and compliance.
  • Laboratory and administrative requests.

Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Laboratory Skills or equivalent as a minimum.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work for timely completion.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to easily understand complex instructions.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively with excellent organisational skills
  • Willingness to contribute to diverse and inclusive communities and accept the responsibility to uphold the Christian Ethos of the College.
