Recently, our 2024 College Captains reflected on their incredible, growth-filled journey as student leaders, as their time in their captaincy roles came to an end at the conclusion of Term 3, 2024.
Here are a few words of reflection from our 2024 College Captains as they "sign off":
"When starting the captaincy journey, I was not very close with all the other College Captains. But through the awesome experiences at Enthuse, we became closer as a team. Term 4 of 2023 went so quickly, and before I knew it, we had finished Term 1, and I was on a plane ready for the Japan Tour. I was fortunate to go with Amali and Zac, and our shared experiences in Japan helped me get to know them better. Into Term 2, we were a lot closer and all our planning and organising was so much easier. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing leaders and friends - the dream team!
And to the 2025 Captains, good luck with your journey, I know you’ll all be great leaders in your positions, and I wish you all the best."
- Dean Thurstun
"In our roles this year, we were focused on fostering growth into the Redeemer community so that individuals could feel empowered to achieve their full potential. Starting with our youngest pupils, we planted sunflowers in the Junior School as a symbol of growth, and made meaningful connections with them when we visited at lunchtimes.
In the Senior School, we shared our wisdom through our weekly Thursday messages, and our everyday connections with individual students. We also worked behind the scenes, serving the community through planning committees and formal school events. The example that we set, both formal and informal, is a key part of our legacy as the 2024 College Captains.
It has been an honour to serve as the 2024 College Captains, and we wish the best of luck to the 2025 Captains who will lead the community for the year to come."
