The third annual Redeemer Hospitality and Sport High Tea event was a great success, with students, staff and family members able to enjoy the delightful food and beverages, plus excellent service from our talented Senior Hospitality students, led brilliantly by Mrs Kate Wilkinson and Mrs Megan Symons!
Our special guest speaker Kendall Gilding (who graciously stepped in at short notice) was amazing and spoke openly and candidly to the guests, families and studts about her own time in High School. She shared about her time playing sport in Far North Queensland, the impact that her English teacher, Mrs Short had on her in helping her find her passion and setting her on a path to become a journalist, and how she got her foot-in-the-door of the media industry by taking up an unpaid offer to work in radio, which then led to working at Channel 7 and becoming the youngest state/national news reader in Australia at the age of 24! Wow!
Thank you to all who played a role in making the event such a grand success!
- Mr Luke Curran, Head of Sport
