On Wednesday, 2 October, over 30 brave Year 12 students said goodbye to their hair for a great cause, raising over $11,400 (and counting) for the Leukaemia Foundation!
The girls who had their hair cut are also donating their locks to be used for wigs for cancer patients, or to clean up oil spills and help our environment!
Blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis. There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day, with these numbers set to double by 2035. That's why Redeemer’s team signed up for the World's Greatest Shave! The students raised funds for the Leukaemia Foundation to give Australians facing blood cancer life-changing practical and emotional support, and to fund critical research, bringing us closer to the day when zero lives are lost to blood cancer.
Students and staff across the Senior School also lined up to donate and have their hair coloured for the cause, raising additional funds for the foundation.
Well done to all who bravely cut/donated their hair!
Thank you to all who donated towards the very worthy cause, and to the wonderful team at MIG Training who cut and shaved the hair of the student team!
